Innovative Infrastructure
The project provided civil engineering, surveying, construction management, and public improvement inspection services for designing and constructing 800 feet of Kamm Avenue and 775 feet of Alta Avenue. Elevation differences with adjacent properties were carefully managed. A 222-foot diameter roundabout was designed to the highest safety standards, incorporating NCHRP Report 672 and Caltrans Highway Design Manual guidelines. Safety features included Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacons (RRFBs) at approaches, streetlights at key crossings, and a 10-foot-wide shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists. The scope also covered right-of-way acquisitions, legal descriptions, utility extensions for sanitary sewer and water mains, and relocation of 275 feet of the 84-inch Dinuba Town Irrigation Pipeline in coordination with the Alta Irrigation District.
