Sante Fe Byway Trail

4Creeks provided Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, Surveying, Utility Coordination, and Construction Management services for the Santa Fe Byway Trail rehabilitation project, creating a safer, more enjoyable space for the Porterville community. The project revitalized 1.3 miles along the historic Rails to Trails corridor, with funding from the Clean California Local Grant Program. Improvements included trail resurfacing, solar lighting, drought-tolerant landscaping, replacement of more than 40 failing trees, new curbing and gutter, and enhanced pedestrian crossings—all supporting active transportation and public safety. Beyond infrastructure upgrades, the project introduced meaningful community amenities: a new park-and-walk area, shaded fitness and playground zones, a large picnic shelter with barbecues, and public art installations that reflect local identity. Together, these enhancements support recreation, mobility, and gathering—making the corridor more functional, inviting, and sustainable.
